The Newman Library

Growing lifelong readers

The Newman Library serves the entire St. Luke’s Episcopal School community.  A priceless resource, the library's collection of approximately 26,000 volumes and diverse electronic databases support the curriculum, provide for independent inquiry, and encourage a love of reading for learning and for pleasure.  Library guests enjoy the sun-drenched space which boasts commanding views of the Olmos Basin and the city's skyline.

Our school library program strives to create a culture of reading throughout the school.  We seek to ensure that our students are information literate, life-long learners as well as effective and responsible users of ideas and information.  Each class (PK-5th) has a set library time each week.  Middle schoolers access library resources as needed, either individually or in groups.  The beautiful space provides a quiet study environment after school and is open to parents as well.
