Suzanne Parker

Middle School Science Teacher

Now in her 13th year at St. Luke’s Episcopal School, Susie is thrilled to teach 8th-grade chemistry/physics and 6th-grade earth/space science this year. Originally hired as the 8th-grade science teacher and division chair, she has spent the past several years developing and enriching the elementary science curriculum. Having taught every grade level at SLES, Susie loves that she knows nearly every student in the halls on a personal level—making the campus truly feel like home.

Before pursuing education, Susie earned a B.S. in Geology and worked as a field geologist before stepping away to raise her four children. Driven by a passion for teaching, she later earned a B.A. in Multidisciplinary Sciences to transition into full-time science education, which she has done for 22 years. Outside the classroom, Susie and her husband love spending time at their Texas Hill Country weekend retreat, where they host their four grown children and spouses, and four grandchildren. Together, they are currently building a guest cabin using vintage materials and local treasures collected throughout their favorite region.
