STEM and Robotics
At St. Luke’s Episcopal School, our Robotics and STEM programs serve as signature experiences that inspire innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Through hands-on learning, students engage in coding, engineering, and robotics challenges that cultivate teamwork and creativity. Whether designing robots for competition, programming solutions to real-world problems, or exploring emerging technologies, our students develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive in a technology-driven world.
Our STEM program goes beyond traditional classroom learning, integrating science, technology, engineering, and math in a way that is dynamic and engaging. Signature Program: Robotics
Robotics at St. Luke’s is a signature program blending engineering principles, teamwork, and resilience. Our competitive teams regularly compete in the regional championships (state level), and two of our teams have recently competed in the World Championships against teams from around the globe.
A student’s robotics journey begins in Robotics I, an afterschool program that teaches students the fundamentals of building, coding, and driving robots in a team setting. Students will learn to use their critical thinking skills to solve problems in order to compete in class-based challenges.
Robotics II introduces students to more advanced concepts of coding and engineering robots. Students will create robots that are able to do multiple tasks and solve more complex problems. The in-class challenge will be similar to challenges in which our top teams compete.
Students who excel in Robotics I and II may be asked to join a competitive team. These teams not only build the most complex robots for yearly games, but they can compete on a local or state level with a chance to attend the World Championships. Competitive students learn problem-solving skills, documentation skills, interview skills, and strategic thinking as they participate in competitions against other schools.
