Technology and Library

At St. Luke’s, technology is one tool among many that support meaningful learning. Technology is used thoughtfully and only when it adds value to the learning experience by helping students research, create, communicate, solve problems, or demonstrate their understanding. Digital citizenship is an important part of preparing students for the world they are growing into. Students learn to use digital resources safely, responsibly, ethically, and with good judgment. They also develop the ability to evaluate information, protect their privacy, communicate appropriately, and understand both the possibilities and responsibilities that come with using technology.

At St. Luke’s, students learn primarily through books, writing, conversation, hands-on experiences, collaboration, and direct interaction with their teachers. Technology is used purposefully and appropriately only when it enhances these learning experiences.

The Newman Library serves the entire St. Luke’s community and remains central to our commitment to reading, research, and inquiry. Its collection of age-appropriate books and other resources supports the curriculum, encourages independent exploration, and helps students discover the lasting joy of reading for both learning and pleasure.

Together, our technology and library programs help us develop lifelong readers and learners who are thoughtful, curious, responsible, and prepared to engage with an ever-changing world.
