Susan Wasiak
Reading Specialist
Susan Wasiak teaches Reading Intervention and Dyslexia Intervention to students in grades K–8 at St. Luke’s Episcopal School. She is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and Dyslexia Therapist who completed a two-year training program through the Scottish Rite of San Antonio, including more than 700 hours of specialized training. This year marks her 11th year working with students with dyslexia across a wide range of ages and abilities. Susan is also a certified Reading Specialist and holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a bachelor’s degree in Education. In addition to her work during the school day, Susan enjoys teaching after-school reading enrichment on Mondays, where students build fluency, confidence, and a love of reading while learning alongside their friends. What Susan loves most about working at St. Luke’s is the giving heart of the students and families who make up such a caring and supportive community. Most of all, she loves helping students build confidence, discover their strengths, and experience personal growth and success as learners. Outside of school, Susan enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, Stan, and their three children, Will, Lauren, and Claire.
