Rebekah Perales

Rebekah is excited to begin her second year at St. Luke’s and looks forward to the journey ahead. As a middle school History and English teacher, she is grateful for the opportunity to guide students through these incredibly formative years as they develop their own passions, perspectives, and confidence.

In both the history classroom and through literature, Rebekah strives to help students fully immerse themselves in the stories they encounter. Whether examining historical events or exploring novels, she encourages students to dive beneath the surface by understanding the context, emotions, and diverse perspectives that shape each story. She believes that meaningful learning happens through curiosity, thoughtful discussion, and the exchange of ideas, and her goal is to create a classroom where every student feels encouraged to ask questions, share their opinions, and learn from one another.

Her own educational journey includes attending local Episcopal schools, St. George Episcopal School and TMI Episcopal, giving her a deep appreciation for the close-knit communities these schools provide. Rebekah earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Austin College, and she is proud to be an alumna.

Outside of the classroom, Rebekah enjoys reading, hiking in local parks, and playing video games. She has also had a lifelong love of animals, caring for many pets over the years, and today, she proudly shares her home with her two cat “children,” Figaro and Olive.
