Monica Crosson

Monica Crosson is excited to begin her sixth year as a member of the St. Luke’s community, where she teaches 5th Grade Ecology and 7th Grade Life Science. Raised in a family of educators and librarians, she developed an early appreciation for learning and a passion for helping others discover the world around them. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

As a certified Gifted and Talented educator, Monica designs learning experiences that encourage curiosity, analytical thinking, and creative problem-solving. She believes that meaningful challenges help students build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

What Monica enjoys most about teaching middle school science is bringing the wonder of the natural world to life. She sees science as more than a subject—it’s a way of thinking. By fostering scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and thoughtful exploration, she empowers students to ask meaningful questions, seek evidence-based answers, and approach the world with confidence and curiosity.

Monica believes children are natural scientists, eager to explore, question, and make sense of the world around them. By nurturing that innate curiosity, she helps students develop the skills and mindset needed to become thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged members of their communities. She is passionate about creating a classroom where curiosity is celebrated, challenges are embraced, and every student is inspired to reach their fullest potential.
