Iliana Hieger

5th-8th Spanish

Iliana was born in Mexico City and grew up in California, surrounded by her Spanish, Cuban, and Mexican heritage, language, and culture. She is in her 25th year of teaching Spanish to children from PreK through Middle School. Iliana graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in College Station with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

She is passionate about working with children and sparking their curiosity to learn and practice a new language, opening doors to engage with new cultures and experiences within the Spanish-speaking world. Her goal for her Spanish language learners is to immerse them in the language, empowering them with the skills needed to communicate effectively while learning about diverse countries, customs, and cultures.

Iliana enjoys traveling and going on adventures to broaden her worldview. She feels blessed to teach in a community where acts of kindness are abundant, and joy is ever-present.
