St. Luke’s Episcopal School Celebrates the Installation of New Head of School, Mike Jenkins
San Antonio, TX – St. Luke’s Episcopal School proudly welcomed Mike Jenkins as its new Head of School during an inspiring installation ceremony held on Wednesday, October 9th at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. The event, attended by faculty, students, parents, and community leaders, marked a significant moment in the school’s history, setting the stage for a new chapter of leadership and educational excellence.
The installation service, led by The Rt. Rev. Dr. David G. Read, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas, included traditional Episcopal liturgy and prayers celebrating the mission and values of St. Luke’s Episcopal School. A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of symbolic gifts by representatives from various school constituencies. These gifts—each carrying deep meaning for the St. Luke’s community—represented the spirit of growth, lifelong learning, and partnership that define the school’s ethos.

As part of the service, Mr. Jenkins was formally charged with guiding St. Luke’s students in their spiritual, intellectual, social, and artistic development. He expressed his gratitude and vision for the school in his remarks, emphasizing his commitment to maintaining the strong partnership between the school, church, and families.
“Our school’s foundation is built on a community of support, faith, and love,” shared Jenkins. “As we move forward together, I am honored to lead St. Luke’s and continue the rich tradition of fostering academic excellence and character development.”
During the ceremony, several members of the school community presented Mr. Jenkins with symbolic gifts, including a Mission Statement and St. Luke’s Way, a Book of Common Prayer, and acorns, symbolizing the growth and potential of each child at St. Luke’s. Alumni representatives presented a Portrait of a Graduate, underscoring the school’s dedication to forming future citizens, scholars, and leaders.
Representing the student body, Pareezay Koreshi, Student Voice President, and Vice Presidents Gabby Turner and Tristyn Dormady presented a school bell, a symbol of joy and a reminder of the joyful learning environment St. Luke’s strives to cultivate.
A New Chapter of Leadership
Mike Jenkins brings a wealth of experience in independent school leadership, as well as a strong commitment to nurturing a well-rounded and outstanding educational experience. His dedication to creating an environment where every student can grow and succeed aligns perfectly with the mission of St. Luke’s Episcopal School.
