Integrated Spanish, Art, and Music (PK3-K)

At St. Luke’s Episcopal School, our youngest learners experience the joy of discovery through an innovative, integrated Spanish, Art, and Music program. In this dynamic class, students explore rhythm, color, movement, and expression—all while immersed in the Spanish language.

Through playful, hands-on activities, children paint, sing, dance, and create as they build both fine motor skills and early language acquisition. Spanish is used as the primary language of instruction, allowing students to naturally absorb vocabulary and conversational phrases in a joyful, interactive environment.

This interdisciplinary approach celebrates the whole child, nurturing creativity, cultural appreciation, and communication skills. Grounded in our Episcopal identity and commitment to honoring each child as a beloved and capable learner, this program reflects our mission to foster confident, curious, and compassionate students from the very start.

Declamations (Grades 1–8)

A beloved tradition at St. Luke’s Episcopal School, Declamations is a hallmark of our 1st–8th program and a powerful reflection of our mission to cultivate articulate, confident, and thoughtful students.

Beginning in 1st grade and continuing through 8th, students select, memorize, and present a meaningful piece of writing, ranging from poetry and speeches to original works, in front of their peers, teachers, and families. Through this process, they build essential communication and public speaking skills, as well as critical thinking and information literacy as they analyze texts and learn to convey meaning with purpose and poise.

Declamations connect classroom learning with personal expression and help students find their voice in a supportive and encouraging environment. This long-standing tradition is more than a performance, but rather a foundational experience that prepares students to speak confidently, lead courageously, and engage thoughtfully with the world around them.

STEM & Robotics

At St. Luke’s Episcopal School, we believe that STEM education—rooted in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—is essential for preparing students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing world. That’s why our STEM curriculum begins in the earliest grades and builds each year, culminating in robust, integrated coursework in 7th and 8th grade, where STEM is part of our core academic offerings.

To enrich and expand this foundation, St. Luke’s is proud to offer a competitive Robotics Program that engages students from the lower grades through middle school. Through hands-on building, coding, and team-based challenges, students sharpen their technical skills while learning the value of perseverance, innovation, and collaboration.

In 2024–2025, St. Luke’s celebrated a major milestone: two of our Middle School robotics teams qualified for the prestigious VEX Robotics World Championships in Dallas, competing alongside teams from more than 55 countries around the globe. This achievement reflects not only the strength of our program, but the passion and excellence of our students and faculty.

Whether in the classroom or on the competition floor, our STEM and Robotics programs empower students to lead with curiosity, confidence, and courage.

Middle School Trade Fair

One of St. Luke’s most cherished traditions, the Middle School Trade Fair is a dynamic celebration of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Each year, our Middle School students take on the role of young entrepreneurs—developing original product ideas, crafting full business plans, and ultimately launching their products in a one-day fair that brings together the entire St. Luke’s community.

From concept to creation to customer interaction, students experience every step of running a real-world business. The event fosters not only critical thinking and problem-solving, but also communication, leadership, and collaboration.

This extraordinary experience is grounded in our Speak, Create, and Innovate course, a two-year curriculum for 5th and 6th grade students designed to build the skills necessary for entrepreneurial success. Students explore product design, marketing strategies, budgeting, and customer engagement—all while strengthening their public speaking and presentation skills.

By the time they reach the Trade Fair, St. Luke’s students are more than ready. They are thoughtful creators, persuasive communicators, and confident leaders prepared to bring their ideas to life. The Trade Fair is a testament to their hard work and to our belief that the future belongs to those who are willing to build it.

8th Grade Year at St. Luke’s

Each fall, our 8th grade students embark on a special retreat to Mustang Island on the Texas coast, an experience designed to mark the beginning of their final year at St. Luke’s and to celebrate their role as leaders on campus. Through reflection, team-building, and spiritual growth, students consider the journey that brought them to this moment and how they will lead in the year ahead. One of the most meaningful milestones from this experience is the 8th Grade Chapel Talk. Drawing upon years of practice in public speaking, each student delivers a personal, thoughtful testimonial about their time at St. Luke’s. These talks stand as a powerful witness to the growth, confidence, and character developed during a student’s years on the Hilltop and are a deeply cherished tradition that honors our mission and Episcopal identity.
