Church-School Liason

Jessica Koontz has been a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church since 1975 when she and her family moved to San Antonio from England. She received a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University and worked for the Central Intelligence Agency as a Middle East political analyst. She subsequently earned a Master of Public Affairs degree from the LBJ School at the University of Texas in Austin. She then spent several years in the Presidential Management Intern program. Jessica and her husband Claude were married at St. Luke’s and their children Henry (‘10) and Serena (‘11) attended SLES from PK through 8th grade. Jessica was a Middle School History teacher at SLES from 2011-2019, teaching the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. She also served as a department head. Jessica enjoyed her role as the sponsor of the Student Voice (student council), and particularly loved chaperoning the 8th grade trips to Washington, DC. Jessica retired from teaching in 2019. She spends time at the family’s ranch in Victoria Country and visiting her father in England. Jessica currently serves on the Church Vestry. She is excited about her new role as the Church-School Liaison.
