A Year of Growth, Community, and Possibility on the Hilltop
As we reflect on the 2025–2026 school year at St. Luke’s Episcopal School, we do so with deep gratitude for a year marked by growth, innovation, and a strengthened sense of community. From our youngest learners to our graduating 8th graders, this year has been a testament to what is possible when faith, learning, and connection come together.
This year marked a season of strong momentum and meaningful growth. Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, enrollment has reached its highest level in the past decade, with more than 276 students enrolled, including over 60 new students joining our community.
At the same time, our efforts to share the story of St. Luke’s have expanded through new and strengthened channels. The launch of Our View from the Hilltop Podcast, increased alumni engagement, and a growing number of parent-focused events have deepened connections across our community and beyond.
This spirit of engagement has been matched by extraordinary generosity. For the second consecutive year, the St. Luke’s Fund achieved 100% participation, raising a record-breaking $478,000, while Kaleidoscope surpassed expectations with over $890,000 raised in support of our mission.
Together, these efforts reflect a vibrant and growing community—one that is deeply invested in the life of the school and committed to its continued strength and future.
Service
Our commitment to service remains at the heart of the St. Luke’s experience. This year, students engaged deeply in opportunities that nurtured both spiritual growth and compassionate action. The 8th Grade Retreat at Mustang Island offered a meaningful time of reflection and community, while the tradition of Chapel Talks gave students the opportunity to share their faith journeys and personal growth with authenticity and courage. Service learning continues to be thoughtfully woven into the academic experience, encouraging students to live out their faith in tangible ways. In the Middle School, the 6th Grade World Religions course and corresponding declamations invited students to explore diverse perspectives with curiosity and respect. Our participation in the Martin Luther King Jr. March further reflected our shared commitment to justice, service, and community engagement. Together, these experiences help form students who not only grow in knowledge, but in faith, empathy, and purpose.
Church & School Facilities
Upon its completion in August, both St. Luke’s Church and School have enjoyed the renovated Parish Hall as a place to join in fellowship. The paddle raise at this year’s Kaleidscope will go towards the renovation of the Buzzini Garden, further enhancing our shared community spaces.
Lower School (PK3–4th Grade)
In the Lower School, learning came alive in meaningful and creative ways. Our project-based declamations invited students to explore topics such as Texas origin stories, fairytales, changemakers, and Greek poetry—encouraging both confidence and critical thinking.
The Innovation Lab continues to be a dynamic space shaped by student voice and imagination, while Earth Day brought students from PK3 through 4th grade together in a shared experience of stewardship and care for creation. These moments reflect our commitment to joyful, hands-on learning grounded in purpose.
Middle School (5th–8th Grade)
Middle School at St. Luke’s continues to be a place where challenge and community intersect. Students participated in grade-level class trips designed to build independence, leadership, and connection—from Camp Capers to Washington, D.C.
Academic programs were further enriched through reimagined declamations connected directly to coursework, and student-led conferences empowered students to take ownership of their learning through reflection and goal-setting.
Arts
The arts flourished this year with both new and beloved programs. Our inaugural all Middle School production of The Lion King Jr. brought students together in a vibrant celebration of storytelling and performance.
Events like MasterPeace and Crescendo showcased the talents of students across music, theatre, and visual arts, while newer initiatives—including Early Childhood Lessons and Carols and The Week of the Tiny Tiger Art Show—created meaningful opportunities for even our youngest learners to shine. The arts continue to play a vital role in shaping confident, expressive students.
Athletics
St. Luke’s athletics saw both growth and achievement this year. Our 6th-grade Blue Volleyball team completed an undefeated season, and our 5th-grade girls basketball team were named division champions in the SACS league. Our programs continue to expand, with increased participation at the elementary level and the growth of our Volleyball Academy through camps and clinics.
This year has been one of remarkable progress, but more importantly, it has been a year rooted in the values that define St. Luke’s—faith, community, and a commitment to forming the whole child.
As we look ahead, we remain grateful for the partnership between our church and school and for the many ways this shared mission continues to shape the lives of our students and families. Together, we look forward to another year of growth, connection, and possibility on the Hilltop.
