Susan Mertz

Mrs. Mertz is excited to begin her 38th year in education and her second year at St. Luke’s Episcopal School. She teaches Science/STEM in the Lower School, and will also serve as a Math Support Teacher. She is passionate about helping students discover the joy of learning through hands-on experiences and meaningful connections. One of her favorite things about St. Luke’s is its caring, faith-filled community and the opportunity to help each child grow academically and personally. Outside the classroom, she enjoys gardening, cooking , and spending time outdoors in nature. She also loves traveling and going on adventures with her husband. Her greatest joy is spending time with her family and creating memories with her two grandchildren. Mrs. Mertz feels blessed to be a part of the St. Luke’s community and looks forward to another wonderful year of learning and growth together.
