Integrated Spanish, Art, and Music (PK3-K)
Our youngest learners experience the joy of discovery through an integrated program that brings Spanish, art, and music together. Students explore language through color, rhythm, movement, song, and creative expression in ways that are engaging and appropriate for their stage of development.
As children paint, sing, dance, listen, and create, they develop fine motor skills, early communication, and an appreciation for different cultures. Spanish vocabulary and conversational phrases are introduced naturally throughout these experiences, helping children build confidence and curiosity from the beginning of their St. Luke’s journey.
Grounded in our Episcopal identity, the program recognizes each child as known, valued, and capable. It provides a joyful foundation for creativity, communication, cultural understanding, and continued learning.

Declamations (Grades 1–8)
Declamations are a long-standing St. Luke’s tradition and an important part of our commitment to developing confident, thoughtful communicators. Beginning in first grade and continuing through eighth grade, students select, prepare, memorize, and present a meaningful piece of writing before an audience of peers, teachers, and families.
The experience grows with students from year to year. In addition to developing poise and public speaking skills, students learn to analyze language, interpret meaning, communicate with purpose, and connect personally with a text. The goal is not simply to memorize and perform, but to understand a piece and share it with confidence.
Within a supportive community, students learn that their voices matter. Declamations help prepare them to speak clearly, lead courageously, and participate thoughtfully in the world around them.

STEM & Robotics
STEM learning at St. Luke’s begins in the early grades and develops throughout the PK–8 experience. Through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, students learn to ask questions, design solutions, test ideas, analyze results, and learn from attempts that do not work as expected. This progression culminates in integrated STEM coursework as part of the core academic program in seventh and eighth grade.
Technology serves as a tool within this work. Students use it purposefully as they design, build, code, collaborate, and solve meaningful problems. These hands-on experiences strengthen creativity, perseverance, communication, and the ability to approach challenges from different perspectives.
Our competitive Robotics Program extends these opportunities from the lower grades through Middle School. In 2024–2025, two St. Luke’s Middle School robotics teams qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championships in Dallas, where they competed alongside teams from more than 55 countries. Their achievement reflects the commitment, teamwork, and problem-solving that define the program.

Middle School Trade Fair
The Middle School Trade Fair gives students the opportunity to experience what it takes to move an idea from concept to marketplace. Students develop original products, create business plans, consider costs and pricing, prepare marketing strategies, and present their work to the St. Luke’s community during a one-day fair.
The experience grows from the Speak, Create, and Innovate course, a two-year program for fifth- and sixth-grade students. Through product design, budgeting, marketing, customer interaction, and public speaking, students learn to connect creativity with careful planning and effective communication.
By the time students participate in the Trade Fair, they are prepared to explain their ideas, respond to questions, make decisions, and adapt to real-world challenges. The experience develops confident communicators, collaborative problem-solvers, and young leaders who understand the effort required to bring an idea to life.

The Eighth-Grade Year
The eighth-grade year is both a celebration of a student’s time at St. Luke’s and an important step toward high school. Students are asked to take greater ownership of their learning, serve as leaders within the school, and reflect on how they have grown academically, personally, and spiritually.
Each fall, eighth-grade students travel to Mustang Island for a retreat that marks the beginning of their final year on the Hilltop. Through reflection, team-building, and shared experiences, students consider the journey that has brought them to this point and the example they want to set for younger students.
The eighth-grade Chapel Talk is one of the most meaningful parts of this final year. Drawing upon years of practice in public speaking, each student prepares and delivers a personal reflection about the St. Luke’s experience. These talks reflect the confidence, character, faith, and sense of belonging students have developed and provide a fitting culmination to their PK–8 journey.
