Service Learning

cultivating servant leaders

Rooted in our Episcopal identity and the mission of St. Luke’s School, service learning is an essential part of our whole-child approach to education. Our commitment to promote lifelong service to others in our students is embedded in our mission, the St. Luke’s Way, and our Portrait of a Graduate.

Through meaningful opportunities to serve others, students develop empathy, leadership, and a deeper understanding of what it means to live in community.

Service learning experiences take many forms and can occur both on and off campus. Students may pack food boxes for families through Children’s Hunger Fund, share joy by singing at a local senior living community, volunteer at The Green Door Thrift Shop, or participate in other projects that address real needs in our community. Every student has the opportunity to engage in service learning every school year.

Leadership through service is woven into daily life at St. Luke’s. Students serve as safety patrol officers during carpool, acolytes in chapel, shadow hosts for prospective students, and leaders in schoolwide service initiatives such as food drives that support our neighbors in need. These experiences help students discover that service is not simply an activity but a way of life.

Love for St. Lukes

What truly sets St. Luke’s apart is its unwavering commitment to serving others. This mission permeates daily life at the school, as the children embody the principles of the St. Luke’s Way. It’s a remarkable place where academic excellence and character development go hand in hand, preparing our children to make a positive impact in the world.”
