Our Core

St. Luke’s Episcopal School is a joyful place where life-long friendships are forged between students and close, life-defining bonds developed between children and adults.

We provide our students with a strong and rigorous grounding in the arts, humanities and sciences. They leave us in 8th grade as confidant, thoughtful and creative citizens.

Let me share with you what I have observed:

St. Luke’s students like to work and learn and compete. They are curious and vigorously engaged by the excitement and stimulation of their classrooms. As they mature, they emerge as scholars, leaders, athletes, artists, scientists, team builders and givers.

Our teachers are the soul of the school. Their talent, creativity, motivation and discipline transform students’ lives.

St. Luke’s challenges students and supports them to meet and conquer those challenges. Small classes encourage each student to be an individual. The teachers and coaches work hard to develop intellectual and artistic passion, and the responsibilities of leadership.

The St. Luke’s student learns to be unafraid of the future. We encourage them to make choices, to take risks, and to assume the equally important lessons of failure and success.

Our graduates enroll in the most challenging programs, both public and private high schools in San Antonio as well as some of the best boarding schools in America.

St. Luke’s graduates now attend Harvard, Stanford, Yale, UT Austin, Texas A&M, Rice, Middlebury, Rensselaer Polytechnic and a host of other great universities and colleges. They became lifelong learners as children at St. Luke’s.

As an Episcopal school, St. Luke’s mission is “not merely to educate, but to demonstrate and proclaim the unique worth and beauty of all human beings as creations of a loving and empowering God.” (National Association of Episcopal Schools)
