St. Luke’s Episcopal School is excited to announce the establishment of two Merit Scholarships. These Merit Scholarships will provide full tuition for two rising fifth grade students who will attend St. Luke’s during their 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade years. Each four-year scholarship is worth in excess of $60,000 and is awarded without respect to need. Students already in attendance at St. Luke’s are eligible to apply. One Merit Scholarship is reserved for a qualified student who is a practicing Episcopalian.
St. Luke’s values creativity, thoughtful questioning, and all the disciplines: the humanities, science, athletics and the arts. The school seeks exceptional children who will participate fully in the life of the school and who will grow to assume the responsibilities of being role models in our community.
Application Criteria:
- Must be a rising 5th grade student
- Must be from the greater San Antonio area or a current St. Luke’s Episcopal School (SLES) 4th grade student
- Must score in the 90th percentile or above on the sub-score rankings of the Independent School Exam (ISEE) on or by February 27, 2010.
- Must demonstrate exemplary citizenship
- Must have a minimum GPA of B+ (87 or above) in academic courses

TO THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE IS MARCH 2, 2010
Finalists will be invited by the Scholarship Committee to come for an interview on either March 8 or March 9. The interview will take about 30 minutes. In addition, finalists will be given a prompt and asked to write a short essay.
Winners shall be expected to maintain a B+ (87 or above) GPA, participate in SLES activities, and serve as a SLES ambassador and role model.
