Capital Campaign

The Chris Jones Middle School Capital Campaign
In 2002, St. Luke’s opened the doors of the Chris Jones Middle School by completing a $3.2 million capital campaign. Additionally, the campaign included the renovation of the McNab Family Gymnasium and addition of the Newman Library. These accomplishments would not have been possible without the support of a generous St. Luke’s community. This points back to a supportive and generous community and the ability to make the impossible possible.

Giving to St. Luke’s:
Donor participation has enormous influence on foundation and corporate giving decisions which means your single gift may have far greater impact.

While tuition and other payments for School services are not tax-deductible, all charitable gifts to St. Luke’s are tax-deductible. Opportunities for giving to the present programs, campaigns, and future needs of St. Luke’s Episcopal School are many. Described below are some of the ways in which our parents, alumnae and friends support the education of our students with tax-deductible gifts.

Cash Contributions
Cash contributions are the most common gifts for which donors receive tax benefits if they itemize their deductions.

Gifts-In-Kind
Gifts-In-Kind are gifts of services, equipment or items that provide operational savings and meet specific needs of St. Luke’s.

Matching Gifts
Matching Gifts of their employees’ contributions are provided by hundreds of corporations. A matching gift from your employer will double and sometime triple the size of your individual gift.

Planned/Deferred Giving
Planned or Deferred Giving provides an opportunity for donors to contribute the remainder of IRAs or other retirement funds, charitable remainder trusts, bequests in wills, or gifts of life insurance.

Stocks/Securities
Stocks or Securities are gifts that may offer the donor a tax deduction by transferring appreciated stock to St. Luke’s rather than selling it. Capital gains on the amount of the appreciation are avoided and the donor receives a tax deduction for the full market value of the stock given.

Thank you for considering a gift to St. Luke’s Episcopal School. If you have any questions, please contact the School’s Development office.
